There is no better comfort food than a toastie, and thanks to Kmart’s new microwave toastie maker, cross contamination is a thing of the past!

I recently saw these online, and grabbed one to try, as cleaning the electric toastie machine between uses is a pain when we’re all having them!

For $15, this little gadget is a must for any gluten free kitchen, it’s small to store, easy to clean, comes in 4 different colours, and makes a super crunchy toastie in just 3 and a half minutes!

After a bit of experimentation, I found that cooking for two and a half minutes, then flipping it over and cooking for a further minute, creates a really crunchy toastie – even with gluten free bread, which can be quite sticky sometimes!

Here I used Tip Top White gluten free bread, buttered on the outside, with cheese and chopped bacon on the inside… delicious!

We now own two of these – a green one for gluten free, and a black one for the gluten eaters. We’ve even got rid of our big electric toastie machine – that’s one less thing in the cupboard! Winning!

Take it to work, on holiday, or just use it at home for a quick snack, and when you’re done – simply pop the metal plates out of the silicone cases, put them in the dishwasher or hand wash, and they’re done! So quick and easy!
