When I started my plant based journey, I began the hunt for a vegan, gluten free protein powder, and after trying a few, this one has been my favourite (by far!).
The vanilla flavour is really quite mild – it isn’t overpowering and doesn’t have a funny aftertaste, which I find some protein powders to have. I also love that it’s been tested to be gluten free.
In the past, protein powders have given me a sore stomach, even when they’ve been gluten free, but so far, this one hasn’t caused me any issues, which I love! Smoothies are just so much easier for breakfast – or dinner. I’m trying to lose weight (as always!) and so am really trying to replace one meal with a shake per day.
One thing that I don’t love, is the incorrect labelling – while this product is tested for gluten, and labelled as gluten free (as it has the right to be), it does carry a may contain warning, something that certified gluten free products aren’t supposed to have.
Coeliac Australia advises that if a company does have incorrect labelling, you should let the company know in writing, as well as forwarding a complaint to the Food Safety Authority, so that they can follow it up – so I’ve emailed the company to let them know, but so far, no response.
